The AMARI Collection, featuring our original leopard jacquard fabric
Having previously released jackets, trousers, and A-line coats, it has been beloved by many of our customers.
And this season, we are adding a safari jacket and a bag to the lineup.
We interviewed our Director and Creative Director about the background of the AMARI Collection, the reasons for its popularity, and their thoughts on the new arrivals.
Q1. How was the AMARI Collection born?

In the summer of 2022, I visited a fabric manufacturer in Italy and came across many beautiful jacquard fabrics.
At the time, I was frequently incorporating leopard print bags into my outfits, and it was also a period when I was rethinking the charm of the leopard print itself.
Leopard print is inherently a pattern with a very strong personality, but at the same time, it is a difficult pattern that can become too overwhelming if not used correctly.
This is especially true when turning it into clothing.
So, I thought, "What if we expressed the leopard pattern in an all-black jacquard?" That would provide just the right balance, and I began working on fabric samples.
While retaining the presence of the pattern, removing the color allows it to blend into everyday life and instantly elevate a simple outfit.
Parisian women incorporate leopard print into their daily lives more than one might expect.
They never make it look flashy, instead allowing it to exist subtly amidst high-quality materials and chic color combinations.
The desire to express that "space between elegance and wildness" was the beginning of AMARI.
Through countless exchanges with the Italian factory, we produced it as an original jacquard exclusive to aLORS, and since its launch in 2022, it has grown into a collection that symbolizes the brand.
Q2. What makes this fabric feel so luxurious?

The charm of this fabric lies in the depth unique to a monochromatic jacquard.
Because the leopard pattern is expressed through weaving rather than printing, the pattern does not sit on the surface, but rather blends into the fabric itself. It adds shadows to an outfit, as its expression changes depending on how the light hits it and the distance from which it is viewed.
While it has a moderate sense of weight in its appearance, it is surprisingly light when you actually hold it.
This balance between "presence" and "lightness" leads to a level of quality that can be worn in daily life.
Q3. Looking back on the AMARI Collection so far, is there anything that left an impression on you?

What leaves an impression on me is how the AMARI Collection has gradually become a staple for both us and our customers with every release.
The collection started with a setup of a jacket and trousers, but I feel it is a collection that has grown with affection within the brand as customers who picked it up told us they wanted different shapes next, or incorporated it naturally into their everyday outfits.
Rather than leaving a one-time impression with a strong impact, it becomes more attuned to a person's style the more they use it. I believe building that kind of relationship with our customers is the unique charm of the AMARI Collection.
Q4. Why do you think the AMARI Collection has been loved for so long and continues to gain popularity?

Above all else, I think it is the leopard print’s exquisite balance—being elegant while still being the star of the show.
Leopard print is actually very difficult.
The personality can come out too strongly, or because it's difficult, people may give up on incorporating it altogether.
Not too much personality. But not too subdued, either.
Expressing that balance is difficult in itself, but I believe that being able to achieve that as clothing is a significant value of the AMARI Collection.
You can be the center of attention in an outfit even with simple styling.
Yet, you can incorporate it into your daily life without ever feeling like you're trying too hard.
Because it's that kind of leopard print, I think that's why we continue to receive the same support even several years after its launch.
I think leopard print is a pattern that tends to divide opinion. But we have many customers who tell us, "This is the first time I've ever worn leopard print in my life," thanks to AMARI. That makes me very happy.
Q5. Please tell us why you chose the safari jacket for the new design.
-Director AYA
Until now, we have designed the AMARI Collection starting more from the concept of "elegance."
In our styling proposals, we might lean slightly casual or sometimes add a classic atmosphere.
However, this time, I wanted to try the opposite approach.
"Instead of creating elegance from casual, let's create elegance starting from casual."
I wondered how I could express the unique aLORS elegance while basing it on casual elements.
That is how I arrived at the safari jacket.
I have always been drawn to "the ultimate casual clothing made by a brand that excels in elegance."
It's not just rough; there is dignity in the material, silhouette, and presence.
This safari jacket is a piece that brings that thought to life.
Even though it is a casual item, I would be happy if you could feel the presence and femininity unique to AMARI.
Q6. Please tell us about the unique charm of this safari jacket.

The appeal of this safari jacket is that practicality and elegance coexist.
The safari jacket's signature pockets, stand-up collar, and roomy silhouette have a functional and slightly mannish beauty. By layering the Amari monochromatic jacquard on top of that, we created a piece that is urban and full of depth.
You can throw it on lightly, and the moment you wear it, the impression of your entire outfit is polished.
Matching it with denim creates a chic, relaxed look, and matching it with an all-black tone creates an even more elegant atmosphere.
It can be worn effortlessly in daily life while also feeling properly special.
That balance is the unique charm of this safari jacket.
Q7. Please tell us about the points you were particularly particular about in designing the safari jacket.

I was particular about how it looks when worn.
A safari jacket is an item that tends to look stronger the more details you add, so I adjusted it so that the overall look remains clean while keeping the necessary elements. The position of the pockets, the appearance of the collar, the balance when worn open, and the gold accents that are visible but not quite—these fine details change the impression, so I placed importance on it looking refined even when thrown on casually.
It is properly constructed, but it doesn't look like the person wearing it is trying too hard.
I wanted to finish it as a piece with that kind of natural composure.
Q8. This time, a bag using the same Amari fabric will also be released.
Please tell us the background behind creating this item.
-Director AYA
First of all, the main reason is that I wanted people to feel the world of AMARI, which symbolizes aLORS, in a more accessible way.
AMARI has been loved by many people since its launch, but there are not a few who admire the leopard print but feel it takes a bit of courage to incorporate it as clothing.
That is why we produced the bag this time as an entrance for you to enjoy AMARI more casually.
Since AMARI's leopard is expressed in all-black, it is easier to blend into your outfits than it looks, and you can use it for any occasion.
I would be happy if you could feel the charm and fun of AMARI in a different form from clothing.
I hope it becomes the "first AMARI" for those who like the leopard print but find it takes a bit of courage to wear it as clothing.
Q9. What styling do you recommend?

Pairing it with a camel or burgundy leather bag while wearing all-black,
or wearing it roughly with jeans.
I think the coordination that fits the AMARI Collection is more about subtraction than addition ☺️
In that sense, it is an item I would like to recommend to everyone who spends their days busy.

First, I would recommend styling it with a black turtleneck or knit and pale blue denim. By adding the lightness of blue denim to the jacket's black jacquard, it creates the kind of relaxed, chic feel common to European fashion. Pairing it with ballet shoes or flats on your feet gives it a more natural, sophisticated impression.
When you want to wear it in a polished way, matching it with slim black trousers or a long skirt is also wonderful. If you pull the whole look together in black, the shadows of the jacquard stand out more, creating an elegant atmosphere suitable for an evening out.
If you pair it with a bag from the same AMARI Collection, the textures will link, making for an even more striking style.
